Our Mission
Our mission is to encourage and support the community to achieve the conservation of the Fleurieu's biodiverse natural environment. The Fleurieu Environment Centre aims to promote and increase knowledge of the importance of our Natural Resources and the management of environmental issues within the community.
The Fleurieu Environment Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports Environmental Management information and initiatives within the region. The centre opened in 1997 and provides a focal point for the community to obtain information through a wide range of free information and resources.
The Centre is funded through the Green Adelaide & Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board.
There are centres in the Adelaide and surrounding areas, located in Adelaide , Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Gawler, Mount Pleasant, Port Adelaide, Willunga, and Normanville.
In 2003 a Natural Resource Centre Alliance was formed giving Centres a chance to share resources, ideas and expertise to more thoroughly meet the community needs of the region.
The Fleurieu Environment Centre is managed by a committee comprising of volunteers elected from the local community and is run on a daily basis by a coordinator and volunteers.
